Buildings, Grounds, and Property Management
School Board Approved: October 7, 2019

The Superintendent will have the general responsibility for the care, custody and safekeeping of all school property, establishing such procedures and employing such means as may be necessary to discharge this responsibility.

At the building level, the Principal, in conjunction with the District Facilities Manager, will be responsible for overseeing the school plant and for the proper care of school property by the staff and students.

NHSBA Note
RSA 198:15-b requires school districts that are approved for school building aid develop a 20-year maintenance plan “that identifies and defines the program and activities necessary to achieve the design life expectancy of the building. Such program shall include activities having to do with scheduled repairs, upkeep, minor alterations, and enhancements of the building. The maintenance plan shall also consider preventive maintenance supporting building systems and components.”

The development of a maintenance plan is not required for school districts already receiving building aid.
