The following policy is adopted to carry out the provisions of New Hampshire Statutes RSA 200:32, RSA 200:38, and RSA 200:39.

Whenever the school nurse has reason to suspect a student is suffering from a communicable illness, the nurse shall contact the parent to arrange for evaluation by the family’s physician.

If a student is prescribed an antibiotic to treat an illness, the student will remain at home for at least 24 hours after treatment has started.

If a student’s symptoms include a fever >100.0 degrees, that student shall remain at home until afebrile (without fever) for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medication.
